Trip Itenary:

Day 1
  • Arrival at IGI airport and take the connecting flight to Leh (3256 meter from sea level) at Kushok Bakuka Rinpochee airport and transfer to the hotel.
  • Welcome drink/ Breakfast and rest. Acclimatization for 24 hours and good hydration followed by Lunch and evening tea. Program briefing, dos & don'ts followed by dinner at rest.
Day 2
  • Breakfast and easy day with the visit of Shanti Stupa back to hotel rest and acclimatization.
  • Lunch
  • 5::00 pm Tea later stroll in the Market.
  • Followed by dinner and an Astronomy presentation.
Day 3
  • Breakfast and day’s briefing.
  • Local visit to Nimo Indus and Zanskar meeting point, magnet hill. Visit to Sikh temple Pathar sahib famous for its great story of Baba Nanak ji.
  • Visit the Leh palace post lunch.
Day 4
  • Check out post breakfast and drive to Hanle 256 km. Approx driving time: 7 hours along the Indus river at an altitude of 4500 meters and visit to the Indian Astronomical observatory.
  • Lunch along the way and stay at the overnight guest house followed by dinner.
  • Changthang plateau is a quiet destination with large historic villages. Excellent for dark sykes (star gazing) with an excellent view of the milky way.
Day 5
  • Stay in Hanle. Visit Umling pass at 5608 meters and back to Hanle. The evening is dedicated to astronomy.
Day 6
  • After breakfast, visit Diskit monastery and drive to Pangong Lake via Shayok River. Pangong Lake is situated at an altitude of 14000 ft. Nearly 60-70% of the Lake is under Chinese territory. After lunch return back to Leh via Changla pass at an altitude of 17800 ft above sea level. Overnight stay in Pangong lake.
Day 7
  • After breakfast, drive for Turtuk- the Land of Baltis, which was under control of Pakistan before the 1971 War between the two nations. You may like to visit the 16 century Masjid and Minaret, Royal house of Yabgo dynasty, Ruin palace of Pun Khar, Historic polo ground. Return to Hunder village Dinner and overnight stay in Hunder village.
Day 8
  • Drive back to Leh over the Khardungla pass at 5359 meters. It is one of the highest motorable roads in the world.
Day 9
  • After breakfast, drive to Leh Airport and fly back to Delhi.
